MEMBERSHIP
WIJ is open to women journalists from national and regional newspapers, magazines
and wire service, as well as freelance journalists, photo-journalists, sub-editors
and women in management positions within the industry.
Any female journalist with at least 2 years’ experience is welcome to join
WIJ.
The current membership fees, valid from June 2004, are:
London, S. East & Home Counties £35 by
direct debit
Regional £20 by direct debit
Members
receive:
- Full use of the Web site including message board and contact directory.
- Details of WIJ seminars
and social events
- Details of special offers
which WIJ negotiates on behalf of its members
- Research data from WIJ
projects
WIJ conducts research into
areas such as the employment, treatment and promotion of women journalists and
the portrayal of women in newspapers and magazines.
